Standards for Artists, Managers, and Photographers
High‑quality promo photos are essential for every artist’s professional identity. They shape your EPK, your website, your posters, and every opportunity that depends on a strong first impression.
These guidelines ensure that all photos submitted to Ras Raqs™ meet the professional standard required for representation, Artist Rise™ services, and promotional materials.
1. Technical Quality Requirements
- Photos must be sharp, not soft or blurry
- Well‑lit (natural or studio lighting preferred)
- High resolution — no screenshots, no pixelation
- No filters, color distortions, or heavy edits
- Avoid harsh shadows or blown‑out highlights
- Submit files in JPG or PNG format
2. Composition & Background
- Clean, uncluttered backgrounds
- No distracting objects or people
- Neutral or brand‑aligned colors
- Intentional framing (no accidental crops)
- Avoid busy patterns or chaotic environments
- Outdoor shots are welcome if lighting is controlled
3. Professionalism & Presentation
- Clothing should be culturally respectful and aligned with your artistic identity
- No casual selfies
- No low‑effort snapshots
- No visible logos unless they are part of your brand
- Hair, makeup, and attire should reflect your performance persona
4. Required Photo Types
Artists can submit:
- 3–5 portraits (headshots or waist‑up)
- 3–5 performance photos (live or staged)
- 1–2 cultural or thematic shots
- A mix of horizontal and vertical formats
These provide the range needed for EPKs, One-sheets, posters/flyers, social media, and venue submissions.
5. Usage & Rights Requirements
- Photos must be cleared for promotional use
- Artist must own the rights or have written permission
- No watermarks
- By submitting photos, you grant Ras Raqs permission to use them for:
- EPKs
- Posters
- Website features
- Booking submissions
- Promotional materials
6. How to Submit Your Photos
When submitting photos for EPKs, Artist Rise services, or representation:
- Upload them through your Ras Raqs intake form
- Or email them directly to: agent@rasraqs.com
- Include your artist name in the subject line
- Send full‑resolution files only
